Citroen dominated today's shakedown stage ahead of the start of Rally Argentina, with Sebastien Ogier setting a time eight-tenths of a second faster than his teammate Sebastien Loeb.
Ogier belied his lack of experience of rallying in Argentina – this is only his second visit to the South American event – to go quickest. The Frenchman admitted, however, that he wouldn't be reading too much into his pace at the four-mile test this morning.
Citroen privateer Petter Solberg was third fastest, despite breaking a driveshaft in his DS3 WRC, while Rally Argentina rookie Mads Ostberg was the fastest Ford, just ahead of factory driver Mikko Hirvonen.
Ogier said: "Shakedown was OK, there was a little bit of dust around early in the morning, but otherwise I am happy and relaxed about things.
"This is only my second time here, so this will be a difficult rally for me – the others know the roads quite well. I'm not thinking too much about that, my goal is to take the maximum points possible here and to try and make more [points] than the championship leader [Loeb]."
The event starts with a superspecial close to Villa Carlos Paz this evening, before the main action gets under way to the west of the host town tomorrow morning.
