Drivers warned over chicane cutting

May 23, 2009

Formula 1 drivers have been warned about cutting the chicanes at the Monaco Grand Prix by race director Charlie Whiting. Ahead of final practice, Whiting sent a note to drivers telling them that they will be reported to the stewards if they start using too much kerb in qualifying or the race. In particular, he is concerned about the chicanes at the exit of the tunnel and at the Swimming Pool section.
