Autoextremist.com claims that GM Racing has committed to fielding a Chevrolet-branded twin-turbo V6 racing engine to compete against Honda in the IZOD IndyCar Series beginning with the 2012 season when the new engine rules come into effect. The announcement will be made this Friday, Nov. 12, according to the website, which claims that the program is part of an accelerated motorsports involvement for General Motors that will also include GM Racing support for several Grand-Am Daytona Prototype teams and Grand-Am GT teams.
