Karun Chandhok will have a five-place grid penalty for the Chinese Grand Prix after a seal was broken on his gearbox on Friday night.
Any time that a team opens up the gearbox there is supposed to be an FIA official present, but Chandhok's HRT team conducted its work without an observer present. As this is a breach of the regulations, Chandhok will have to move five places down the grid after qualifying.
