Auto GP champion Kevin Ceccon will return to GP2 race action with Coloni at the end of season Abu Dhabi one-off race next month.
The 18-year-old Italian made his GP2 debut with the team earlier this year, subbing for the injured Davide Rigon for four weekends with a best finish of 11th at Monaco.
Ceccon returned to a GP2 cockpit for last week's Jerez test, where he set the fifth fastest time overall. He will drive in the next test at Barcelona as well (Oct. 20-21), and will make his first start in the category since the British Grand Prix support races at the Abu Dhabi event.
Team boss Paolo Coloni said: "Kevin, with his young age and an Auto GP title, is undoubtedly the most interesting Italian talent, and he has a great potential.
"He clearly showed this in Jerez where he was fifth overall, and our aim is to keep working with him in the same direction. In Barcelona we will have time to prepare ourselves for the Abu Dhabi finale in the best possible fashion. Those days will be very important as they give us the chance to both carry on with the technical programme on the car and make useful evaluations for 2012."
Ceccon made way for Luca Filippi at Coloni this year, and the veteran went on to take three wins and finish second in the standings with a very strong second half of the season.
