Italian teenager Kevin Ceccon will become the youngest driver in this year's GP2 lineup when he races for Coloni Motorsport in the next two meetings at Barcelona and Spa. Ceccon, 17, replaces Davide Rigon, who is sidelined after a leg-breaking crash last time out at Istanbul.
Ceccon was a podium finisher in the AutoGP season opener, held at Monza last weekend, and team boss Paolo Coloni said he was delighted to offer the youngster a chance to prove himself at a higher level.
"I think Kevin is the most interesting young Italian driver around at the moment," he said. "He did a good job to finish in the top three at Monza, and these two races will be a great chance to prepare himself for the 2012 season."
Ceccon, who drives for Ombra Racing, is currently fourth in the AutoGP standings.
