Helio Castroneves believes that he can step up his quest for a first IndyCar title with a good result at Edmonton this weekend. The Brazilian, who is currently third in the points behind Andretti's Ryan Hunter-Reay and teammate Will Power, said that he is feeling good about his prospects with five races remaining.
"We definitely know [we are in the hunt]," he said. "We are sitting in a good position as long as we keep within 50 points of the leader. We're doing what we are supposed to do, [and] we'll keep digging a little bit.
"Hopefully at the places I enjoy – and this is one of them – we'll be able to collect a few more points than the others, and we can go on a run for the championship."
Castroneves finished runner-up in the championship in 2003 and 2008.
