IndyCar title contender Helio Castroneves will be issued with a 10-place grid penalty for Sunday's race at Mid-Ohio after the Penske team opted to make a strategic engine change.
Team president Tim Cindric confirmed via Twitter that the decision had been taken to update Castroneves' engine to a newer spec in response to the storms that are forecast for race day.
"With the way the weather looks, there may be many strategies that play out," Cindric wrote.
Castroneves, who had initially qualified 13th for the race, is the second driver after BHA's Alex Tagliani to be dealt a grid penalty for this weekend.
