British Formula 3 champion team Carlin has denied having submitted an entry for the 2011 Formula 1 season.

Reports in the Finnish media linked the Hampshire-based squad with an entry for next year's championship, with the FIA still considering who will get the 13th entry. While Carlin said its target is to enter F1 eventually, the team denied having submitted an application for next year.

"While F1 may be a long-term goal for the team, we have not submitted an application for the 2011 season, nor are we in any position to do so," said team boss Trevor Carlin. "At the moment we are 100 percent focused on our current programs and continue to put all our efforts into winning championships and races in the junior categories."
