IndyCar is partnering with Cie Games, a developer of social and mobile games, to offer fans of its Facebook game "Car Town" a commemorative Dan Wheldon car to honor the late two-time Indianapolis 500 champion.

Due to the outpouring of support from the Car Town community and IndyCar, a tribute car in memory of Dan Wheldon was created so that players could express their condolences in the game. The limited release 2011 Lionheart No. 1 Dan Wheldon car with the St. George's Cross design also honors his British heritage. Players can add the commemorative Dan Wheldon car to their collection by completing an in-game purchase and earn bonus experience points, which help them progress through the game. All proceeds from the sale of the car will go to the Dan Wheldon Family Trust Fund.

"Offering a Dan Wheldon commemorative car to Car Town fans is our way of honoring his life and remarkable achievements," said Justin Choi, president and CEO of Cie Games. "It not only commemorates Dan's great accomplishments, but is also another way for those he touched to remember him while helping his family through these tough times."

The Dan Wheldon Family Trust Fund has been established for the financial security of Wheldon's family. The public can make contributions to the Dan Wheldon Family Trust Fund at the following address:

Fifth Third Private Bank, Attn: Dan Wheldon Family Trust

251 North Illinois St. Suite 1000, Indianapolis, IN 46204

All of Fifth Third Bank's Indianapolis branches also are accepting contributions in person, which will be routed to the account.
