Spanish driver Sergio Canamasas will get behind the wheel of a Formula 1 car for the first time when he carries out aero testing for the Caterham team.
Canamasas, who races with the squad's GP2 outfit, will complete a straightline test in France on June 20. The 27-year-old from Barcelona will be driving the CT03 all day to help the team with the development of the car.
"Taking part in the aero test with the F1 team is another step in my development and it's good to have the chance to help the team continue the progress they've made so far this year," said Canamasas.
"I'm going to the factory at Leafield before the test for a seat-fit and to go through the detailed run plan for the day with the engineers. With no GP2 activity until Silverstone at the end of June I can fully focus on my F1 work for the next few weeks."
Canamasas is currently 26th in the GP2 standings and is yet to score his first points.
