Jenson Button is to have a bridge named after him in his hometown of Frome as recognition for his World Championship title.
The BBC has reported that members of the Frome Town Council want to make the current McLaren driver an honorary citizen of the Somerset town as well. Mayor Damon Hooton is quoted as saying: "The bridge is going to be built anyway, so we decided it would be a good idea to name it after him.
"He [Jenson Button] will have a presentation scroll to commemorate it and we're going to name the new bridge to be built in Frome after him. We will put a plaque on the bridge with a suitable commemoration on it. We're hoping the bridge will be built between now and the summer."
