2004 NASCAR Sprint Cup champion Kurt Busch will drive a V8 Supercar at Austin's Circuit of The Americas on Tuesday.
The 34-year-old will be joined at the test by V8 championship contenders James Courtney and Fabian Coulthard, the latter of whom has already won twice this year and lies fifth in the championship.
The series will make its first appearance at the USGP circuit on May 18-19. The five-year deal represents the first time an Australian racing series will hold a full championship race in the U.S.
Busch, whose Furniture Row Racing squad will also bring its Gen-6 NASCAR to the track, said he felt privileged to have the opportunity to switch disciplines.
"I'm flattered for the invite from V8 Supercars," Busch said. "Not only driving one of their style of cars was high on my list but to do it at COTA makes this a dream opportunity."
Courtney also completed exhibition laps in his Holden Commodore during the MotoGP event at Austin.
