Kyle Busch led all but 10 laps from pole in a thoroughly dominant victory in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series' F.W. Webb 175 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
With more than the last 100 laps run without a caution, Busch lapped up to sixth place Matt Crafton. The win is Busch's 30th in just his 99th Truck Series start. A year ago, Busch led 156 of the 175 laps in the truck race at New Hampshire, and he flipped that to 165 of 175 this year.
“We just had a great truck,” Busch said. “We're good on the short tracks, and just need to be better on the mid-range tracks. This was fun for us, maybe not for some others.”
Austin Dillon finished second ahead of Kevin Harvick, Ron Hornaday, Johnny Sauter and Crafton. Dillon took the points lead with the runner-up finish, while prior points leader James Buescher came home seventh.
“We were a second place truck all day,” Dillon said. “I ran there every lap, at least we got one lap to lead and a point. He struggled in traffic, and that was the only time I could run with him.”
Harvick didn't mince his words in describing the relative excitement of the race.
“The truck was too loose in the first run, then it got tight,” Harvick said. “I got stuck behind the 88 (Crafton) and lost track position. It was like a parade, a terrible race, and really hard to pass. We did what we had to do for big picture (the owner's championship).”
The trucks race again next Saturday at Kentucky Speedway as the undercard to the IZOD IndyCar Series.
