On Thursday, Kyle Busch announced his brother Kurt will drive in the No. 54 Monster energy drink-backed Kyle Busch Motorsports Toyota in 20 NASCAR Nationwide Series events this season.
Kurt Busch already had a deal to run a limited number of Nationwide races for his new Sprint Cup team, Phoenix Racing, with that team's No. 1 Chevrolet. He will still declare for the Sprint Cup championship in the No. 51 Chevrolet, having been announced there in December.
Kyle Busch makes the step up to Nationwide with the KBM team after accruing 16 wins, 14 by its eponymous owner, in two years in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.
Kyle Busch is expected to run the races Kurt Busch doesn't in the team's Nationwide entry.
