David PinkneyDavid Pinkney will race a Vauxhall Vectra in next year's British Touring Car Championship after re-establishing his Pinkney Motorsport squad.

The series veteran, who finished 17th last year in a Team Dynamics Honda Civic, has bought an ex-Fabrizio Giovanardi car from Triple 8 Engineering, the squad that ran it as a works car last year.

"Things didn't work out as I'd hoped they would at Dynamics last year, so that's why I decided to go my own way and restart my team," Pinkney said.

"The Vectra is a damn good car and I think that if I can just improve my corner speed by a few clicks, then podiums are achievable – or maybe even a win. I'm really excited about the year ahead."

Pinkney's car will use the Swindon Racing-built TOCA engine next year. Andy Dean will act as team manager while former Triple 8 man Ross Davis has joined as number one mechanic.
