Gianmaria Bruni has given AF Corse an early lead in this year's Spa 24 Hours.

At the start of the second hour Bruni, in the AF Corse Ferrari, leads by seven seconds from the No. 79 BMW as the first scheduled pitstops approach.

The polesitter took the lead from the start and pulled clear from the battle between the works BMW M3s in the GT National class and the GT3 Phoenix Audi R8s.

Dirk Muller quickly established himself in second and chased after Bruni, while Marcel Fassler and Uwe Alzen battled for third. Alzen made it by just over half an hour into the race, and Fassler also lost out to Peter Kox's Reiter Lamborghini Gallardo, which therefore took the lead of GT3.

Andrea Piccini has already fallen out of the fight after he had to pit just three laps into the race with the #51 Audi.

The GT3 cars have already started their fuel stops, so fourth place is currently held by the leading Porsche, the #16 IMSA machine, but Patrick Pilet is already more than 40 seconds behind Bruni.
