Alex Brundle will provide testing consultancy to Radical after being recruited as a development driver by the UK-based sports car constructor.

The 20-year-old currently competes in Formula 2, where he lies eighth overall, but has competed in selected Radical events through the year, notably partnering with father Martin to take a clean sweep of victories at the Radical Nevada Cup at Ascari in February. Having also shared an SR3 RS with fellow BRDC Rising Star James Abbott, Brundle says he is relishing the chance to work with Radical and apply his racing skills in a non-competitive context.

"I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Radical Sportscars and to apply my trade in a professional context," Brundle said. "I have tremendous admiration for what Radical has achieved as a business, and great respect for the individuals I have worked with at race events. I look forward to working with the team to develop their range of approachable and exciting racecars."

Radical co-founder Phil Abbott said the team was delighted to have recruited Brundle, and looked forward to the benefit his feedback could provide.

"Radical is extremely pleased to have Alex's services on a regular basis, bringing his single-seater experience to our range," he explained.

"We have been impressed by not only his raw pace, but also his natural ability to communicate how the car performs and handles. Alex is a mature driver, whose feedback has already benefited the business and works team, and we look forward to this continuing."
