Saturday's Grand-Am Rolex Series season finale at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course featured new faces as the overall winners, familiar faces capturing the DP title, and nostalgia with the new GT class champions.

The battle for the GT class crown lived up to all expectations as Brumos Racing eclipsed Autohaus Motorsports to secure the title for drivers Andrew Davis and Leh Keen in the team's No. 59 Porsche GT3 Cup by just two points.

Brumos held off the No. 70 SpeedSource Mazda RX-8 for fourth place in the race. Brumos entered down three points to Autohaus but an eighth-place finish for drivers Jordan Taylor and Bill Lester ended their quest for their initial title in their No. 88 Camaro. This was Brumos' return to running in the GT class, although their first year under Rolex Series sanction.

"At the beginning of the year, Hurley Haywood sat us down and told us we were going to race to win races and championships," said Keen. "Winning the championship in our first year shows what Brumos is made of. This championship feels better than my first, doing it the way we did it and how it all unfolded, bringing Brumos back to GT. At first we wanted just to get a podium. Then we kept winning and winning."

Stevenson Motorsports scored its second straight GT class race win to end the season, with Robin Liddell and Ronnie Bremer repeating its result a month ago in Montreal. Stevenson's win gave Chevrolet the class manufacturer's championship over Mazda, and denies Mazda the chance at taking three in one season.

DP was a fairly straightforward affair with Scott Pruett and Memo Rojas (RIGHT) completing enough time to guarantee the TELMEX Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates duo won its third title in four seasons. Starworks Motorsports took the overall victory, their first in the Rolex Series, with Ryan Dalziel and Enzo Potolicchio driving. Pruett and Rojas finished second with Montreal DP winners and Mid-Ohio polesitters Alex Gurney and Jon Fogarty third in the GAINSCO/Bob Stallings Racing entry.

"It's been an incredible year for us," Pruett said. "We've had our ups and downs, but we've been focused as a team to get our car to the front as much as possible. All my championships are great. I never thought I'd still be winning championships at this point in my career."

Stevenson Motorsports led the GT podium over a pair of Mazdas, SpeedSource's defending champion entry of Jeff Segal and Emil Assentato second and the Dempsey Racing pair of Dane Cameron and James Gue third for the second race running.
