Indianapolis 500 polesitter Ryan Briscoe is expecting a 'wild' race on Sunday because there are so many cars capable of challenging for victory.
Briscoe beat James Hinchcliffe's Andretti Autosport-run Dallara to pole by just 0.03mph last weekend, and he is expecting the fight for victory to be just as difficult to call.
"I think it's going to be a pretty wild race," said the Penske driver. "Nobody is going to be able to pull away.
"It's going to be a pretty grueling 500 miles. There's going to be a lot of passing, and it's going to be hard to predict a winner until you see them come out of Turn 4 [on the last lap]. And maybe even then, you won't know.
"I think it's going to be all about executing on the day, not making mistakes, having good pit stops and keeping your nose clean."
Team Penske has all three of its drivers in the top six on the grid for the 500, but Briscoe is expecting a fierce challenge from Michael Andretti's team, which fills the other three spots on the first two rows.
"Andretti are always strong here in the race," said the Australian. They have been strong in race runs in practice.
"I feel like we have been just as strong, though – and I feel like there are a lot of cars out there that have been strong."
