Craig Breen will return to the Intercontinental Rally Challenge in Sanremo next month, his first series appearance since the death of his co-driver Gareth Roberts in June. Roberts lost his life when he and Breen crashed on the IRC's Targa Florio round.
Reigning World Rally Championship Academy champion Breen has competed on national events and the Finland Super 2000 WRC round since the accident, but the Sanremo outing will mark his IRC return. He will rejoin the Sainteloc team to drive a Peugeot 207 on the event.
Team manager Vincent Ducher said: "We are really glad he's coming back to our team because he's a really, really fast driver, a really professional driver and I think he can do very well in Sanremo."
The Sanremo event will also see the Kronos team, which formerly ran the Peugeot UK and Belux programs and took Kris Meeke to the 2009 title, make its IRC comeback.
Marc van Dalen's squad will field former 2WD Cup champion Harry Hunt in a Peugeot. Kronos ran Thierry Neuville and Guy Wilks last season.
