Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racingand blu eCigs are expanding their involvement together, the team announced. The electronic cigarette brand will become primary sponsor of the No. 15 entry for Graham Rahal in the upcoming Sao Paulo Indy 300 in Brazil and will increase its involvement in next month's Indianapolis 500 to major associate sponsor with enhanced branding on the car.
“blu eCigs has been a great addition to our program this season, and has been very well received by the race team as much as the fans – so we are very pleased to be expanding our relationship together,” said team co-owner Bobby Rahal. “We had the ability to bring on a primary sponsor for Graham's car in Brazil and are thrilled that blu eCigs has jumped at the opportunity, after an active weekend most recently at the Long Beach Grand Prix.”
“We are very pleased with the positive response by fans at this year's Long Beach Grand Prix event where blu eCigs had its first ever presence as an IndyCar primary sponsor. We saw the use of e-cigarettes throughout the event, including by our own pit crew, so the IndyCar demographic appears to be the right match for blu,” said Matt Coapman, Vice President of Marketing at blu eCigs. “We think the upcoming Sao Paulo IndyCar event can amplify both U.S. and international exposure and will be a good fit for the sport and our brand.”
