Monster Ford World Rally Team driver Ken Block will start this week's Rally GB, despite crashing his Ford Focus RS WRC heavily yesterday.
The American driver completed four runs of the Greystoke test stage before crashing into a ditch and damaging the car extensively. He will start in a replacement Focus RS WRC in Cardiff.
MWRT spokesman Brian Scotto said: "The in-car footage shows Ken was going through a left into a right-hand corner when the car aquaplaned on some water. The water pulled the car into the ditch and then into a tree."
Block and his co-driver Alex Gelsomino emerged from the car unscathed and are on the pre-run for the final round of the WRC in Wales today.
"Conditions were treacherous," said Scotto. "There was a lot of slush around and in some places snow. It's caused a delay and cost Ken the afternoon's testing, but there's no question they will start the event on Thursday night. Ken and Alex are both fine."
