TriStar Motorsports has signed veteran NASCAR driver Mike Bliss to drive its No. 19 Chevrolet in the NASCAR Nationwide Series this season. Bliss will join teammate Eric McClure in TriStar's No. 14 Chevrolet.
"It feels good to finalize my plans for the 2011 season by joining the TriStar Motorsports team and to be reunited with Mark [Smith] and Dave [Fuge]," Bliss said. "In 2002, Dave and I won the Truck Series championship with Mark's engines under the hood. All of us have high expectations for the upcoming season with TriStar."
Bliss has more than 500 starts in the top three divisions of NASCAR, with more than 200 of those in the Nationwide Series. Bliss has two wins in the Nationwide Series (at Charlotte Motor Speedway in 2004 and '09).
"Adding Mike to our team, along with Eric, is another step in the right direction," team owner Smith said. "I believe that we have put together a great group of people at TriStar and I only see great things on the horizon. The guys on the team are working hard on building our fleet of new cars for the upcoming season. We are working on finishing up some sponsorship programs with Bliss and we think 2011 will be a huge step in the development of TriStar Motorsports."
