ART GP2 driver and Ferrari Driving Academy member Jules Bianchi has been sidelined for what a Ferrari statement described as 'quite a long time' after suffering a back injury in today's GP2 feature race at the Hungaroring.
The Frenchman is recovering at Budapest's AEK hospital after fracturing his second lumbar vertebra in an accident at the start of the race.
The incident occurred when Bianchi ran wide at the exit of Turn 1, spun across the track, lost his car's nose when he was clipped by Dani Clos, and was then hit head-on by the DAMS Dallara of Ho-Pin Tung.
Tung will also spend the night in hospital under observation and has been ruled out of tomorrow's race as a precautionary measure, but AUTOSPORT understands that the Dutch-Chinese driver has been cleared of any serious injury.
