At the first anniversary of Danica Patrick's first and only IndyCar Series win to date in the Indy Japan 300 at Twin Ring Motegi, speculation continues to focus on whether the series' most prominent star will return next year or jump to NASCAR.
Patrick indicated last month at Sonoma that she was likely to stay with Andretti Green's ICS team for 2010, but remained non-committal on the subject at Motegi, Meanwhile, IndyCar CEO Jeff Belskus made a rare public comment on the issue.
“She's great for our series,” Belskus told the Associated Press. “My hope is she's going to continue being a part of our series. I know she has said winning the Indianapolis 500 is important to her and that it's a lifelong dream to win that race.” He allowed, however, that "It's understandable that she is considering all the options available to her."
