Alvaro Bautista may yet be fit to race in the Czech Grand Prix after x-rays confirmed he had escaped serious injury in his practice crash.
Suzuki's Spanish rookie was taken to a hospital with suspected back injuries following the accident at Turn 3 earlier today, and the initial indication was that he had definitely been ruled out of the rest of the event. But following checks in a hospital he was discovered to have avoided fracturing his vertebrae as had been feared.
Bautista will now undergo a final check on Sunday morning at the circuit before a decision is made on whether he will be able to contest the grand prix.
