Alvaro Bautista paid tribute to the Gresini Honda squad after scoring his first MotoGP pole position for the team in British Grand Prix qualifying at Silverstone.
The 27-year-old Spaniard said that after switching from Suzuki to Fausto Gresini's outfit during the winter, he was now starting to get a better feeling from his machinery.
"During the weekend I've felt very good on the bike in the wet or the dry; we've been very consistent," he said. "We've worked so hard to get more feeling on the bike. I've changed teams and it's been difficult to get a good feeling so early into the season.
"I'm very confident and I want to get a good result in the race. I just need to push to the maximum. I really want to be here again tomorrow."
Bautista's pole position was his first in any class of grand prix racing since 250cc Italian Grand Prix in 2009. It was also Gresini's first in MotoGP since the late Marco Simoncelli qualified at the front at Assen last year.
