Bertrand Baguette delighted his home crowd by setting the fastest time in the Formula Renault 3.5 superpole session at Spa-Francorchamps, earning him pole position for Sunday's feature race.
P1 Motorsport's James Walker finished just 0.02s adrift of the Belgian, having earlier headed the A qualifying group. Miguel Molina recovered his composure after a wild display in his qualifying group to post the third fastest time for Ultimate Motorsport.
B group pacesetter Adrian Valles was fourth for Epsilon Euskadi, ahead of Charles Pic, while Walker's P1 team-mate Daniil Move completed the top six.
This afternoon's reverse grid race will have an all Spanish front-row with Baguette's Draco team-mate Marco Barba lining-up at the head of the field, courtesy of his eighth place in superpole, ahead of championship leader Marcos Martinez.
Last year's Carlin British F3 trio of Oliver Turvey, Brendon Hartley and Jaime Alguersuari all missed out on the top eight, despite making the 12-car superpole session, as did RC Motorsport's Pasquale di Sabatino.
