Luciano Bacheta has completed a late deal to join the Ralf Schumacher-affiliated RSC Mucke Motorsport team's GP3 lineup ahead of this weekend's season opener in Turkey.
The 21-year-old Briton was the runner-up in last year's Formula Renault Eurocup. Although Bacheta had a DTM tryout with Mucke over the winter, he has not run in any of the GP3 tests, but he is confident he can overcome this disadvantage.
"It is very exciting for me to join a team which has proven strength in GP3," said Bacheta, who is managed by Lewis Hamilton's father, Anthony. "I know that it will be tough as I have had no preseason testing, but I am confident that I will learn quickly with such a resourceful and effective team behind me."
Bacheta joins second-year GP3 drivers Nigel Melker and Michael Christensen at Mucke.
