The Charlotte Observer reports that the NASCAR Hall of Fame in downtown Charlotte, N.C., which announced its second annual list of inductees this week, is struggling with declining attendance and may be forced to cut between $2.5 million and $3 million in annual expenses to balance its budget.

The Hall initially projected first-year attendance would be 800,000. The Observer reports that if the Hall's first four months of attendance continued throughout the year, actual attendance would be about 360,000.

Bobby Allison, Ned Jarrett, Bud Moore, David Pearson and Lee Petty were selected as this year's inductees. They will be officially inducted into the Hall of Fame next May, when the new class officially joins NASCAR founder Bill France Sr., his son and successor, Bill France Jr., seven-time NASCAR champions Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt and Junior Johnson in the Hall.
