Sam Schmidt Motorsports has signed Nick Snyder as lead engineer for the No. 77 Bowers & Wilkins car driven by Alex Tagliani.
Snyder was most recently the engineer for Andretti Autosport's Mike Conway, who won at Long Beach in April. He also was the engineer for Tony Kanaan when he won at Iowa Speedway in 2010.
Todd Malloy was on loan from Bryan Herta Autosport the past two races. The No. 77 squad has been looking for a full-time engineer since Allen McDonald quit the team to return to Andretti Autosport after Indianapolis. Tagliani scored pole positions both at Indy with McDonald and at Texas with Malloy.
