PG AnderssonFormer factory Suzuki World Rally Championship driver PG Andersson will make his Intercontinental Rally Challenge debut in a Mitsubishi in Sardinia next month.

Since losing his WRC drive when Suzuki quit the sport at the end of 2008, Andersson has only made sporadic appearances at rallying's top level. The double Junior champion will drive for the JRM team in Sardinia, using the same Lancer that Gwyndaf Evans took to victory in the British Championship round, the Pirelli Rally in April.

"It will be the first time I've driven the Evo X in competition although I will get a short test in Sweden," said Andersson. "I own an Evo IX, which I've driven on a few events at home, so it will be interesting to see the differences between the two cars."

The Rally d'Italia-Sardegna takes place from June 4-6, and is running as part of the IRC for the first time having previously been a world championship round.
