P-G Andersson will drive a Stobart Ford Focus RS WRC on the next round of the World Rally Championship, Rally Bulgaria. An announcement is expected tonight regarding the July 8-11 event, but AUTOSPORT's sources have confirmed that the Swede will join Matthew Wilson in the British team for the inaugural Bulgarian WRC round.
Andersson remained tight-lipped on the deal, but he is known to have been in discussion with the Cumbrian team for some time.
The two-time Junior champion tested a Ford Focus RS WRC for the first time earlier this month, when he completed 160 miles of endurance running in the Greystoke complex. Andersson is a former winner of the J-WRC category on the Catalunya Rally, an asphalt round of the series like Bulgaria. He is currently contesting the Rally of Portugal in a Skoda Fabia S2000 and lies 16th overall and third in the Super 2000 World Rally Championship.
