Fernando Alonso was happy with his day's work at Barcelona despite losing most of the morning due to a problem with his Ferrari.
The Spaniard managed just 11 laps in the morning after he stopped with an electronics issue the team took several hours to fix. Alonso had a more productive afternoon, however, and eventually finished the day with 74 laps completed and with the seventh fastest time of the session. The two-time champion admitted the day hadn't gone according to plan, but was pleased all the same.
"It wasn't a perfect day, but it was very helpful nevertheless," Fernando told the official Ferrari website. "We had several new things in the car and we collected some data to see how they work. Now we've got to understand how to exploit them.
"The track wasn't great today. A little dirty and windy. It's always interesting to drive on a circuit, where you'll also have a grand prix, because you start seeing some aspects you'll have to deal with later on. All in all, I'd say it was a good day."
