Fernando Alonso has had a first glimpse of his new Ferrari Formula 1 car, ahead of a seat fitting that is due to take place this week. The Spaniard, whose first public appearance in Ferrari team gear took place at last week's media skiing event at Madonna di Campiglio, has traveled to Maranello to make further progress ahead of the 2010 season.

Speaking to fans during a special chat event with Ferrari's official website, Alonso said about the car development: "It's almost ready. I'm here in Maranello today to prepare the seat and other things connected to the debut on the track. I think that the Ferrari will be competitive and I really hope to bring the drivers' title here to Maranello."

Ferrari is due to launch its new car in Maranello on Jan. 28, ahead of its first proper run at the Valencia test the following week.
