The American Le Mans Series confirmed Tuesday that CBS and SPEED will be its domestic television partners for the 2010 season.
SPEED will telecast seven of the year's nine races, beginning with the 58th annual Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring on Saturday, March 20. CBS takes over May 22 at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. CBS also will broadcast Round 6 on August 7 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.
“SPEED has been a valuable partner over the years,” said Scott Atherton, president and CEO of the American Le Mans Series. “Fans have come to recognize it as the leader in motorsports programming and information. Both its on-air and online product are second to no one in the industry. It has been gratifying to see SPEED grow to more than 80 million homes which in many ways has paralleled the series' own growth.
“In addition, we welcome CBS back to our television lineup,” he added. “Both television partners have played valuable roles over the years as we have developed and introduced innovation to our telecasts much in the same manner that we do on-track.”
Actual telecast times will be announced at a later date.
