TOPEKA, Kan. (Sept. 14, 2004) – Sports Car Club of America, Inc. announced today that timing and scoring information for the 2004 SCCA National Championship Runoffs® Presented by Kohler will be broadcast live on the Internet through www.scca.com.

Beginning with practice on Monday, Sept. 20, continuing through qualifying and all 24 National Championship races from Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, fans, friends and family can follow the progress of their favorite drivers online for the first time ever, as the action happens.

“We’re excited to continue our Live Timing & Scoring, which was a tremendous success in 2003,” SCCA Vice President of Marketing Garret Mudd said. “We thank Yokohama Tire for stepping in as the presenting sponsor, helping us continue this program for 2004.”

Like the wireless trackside iCard system and SPEED Channel television feed, live timing and scoring data will be taken from the AMB transponder system. SCCA has chosen a product developed by VFX Digital Solutions to deliver the data online. VFX has been broadcasting live timing and scoring for the SCCA SPEED World Challenge Championships since 2003, and also provides the service for the CART Champ Car World Series and Grand-Am.
