America's Alexander Rossi will get a tryout with Caterham Team AirAsia at the forthcoming Jerez GP2 test, it was confirmed on Tuesday. Rossi, a lead driver in the AirAsia driver development program, will join Antonio Felix da Costa, Yelmer Buurman and Ricardo Teixeira at the test.
GP3 race winner Anthony Felix da Costa will join the squad for the first day of the test. The 20-year-old finished 13th in this year's GP3 championship, but finished on a high by winning the final race at Monza. Da Costa will share the first day of running with Holland's Buurman, who tested for Force India at the end of 2010 and is a multiple race winner in Superleague.
The second day will be shared between Formula Renault 3.5 front runner Rossi and Team Lotus test driver Ricardo Teixeira.
"We want to reward young talent with the chance to develop their skills and the drivers we have taking part in this test are all here on merit," Team Principal Riad Asmat said. "We will make them work – they will be put under the same pressure our race drivers are, and that is the best way for them to learn. I am sure they will repay our faith in them by performing to the best of their abilities."
