Autoweek.com reports that former Firestone Indy Lights champion Alex Lloyd is close to an agreement with Newman/Haas/Lanigan Racing to drive its No. 06 car in the final two races of the IndyCar season and perhaps all of 2010. Lloyd will reportedly bring the HER sponsorship which backed his Ganassi/Schmidt entry in the Indianapolis 500 this year.
The site also reports that IndyCar series officials say that they are nearing a deal for a series title sponsor in 2010, and that the company is not Firestone.
