Mikhail Aleshin has been ruled out for the remainder of the GP2 opener in Turkey following his crash during qualifying.
The Carlin driver lost control of his car and crashed into the barriers at high speed during the grid-deciding session. The Russian injured the metacarpal in both hands, with his left hand suffering a small fracture that means he will not be able to race this weekend.
"I braked in my normal place in corner 12, but the car didn't stop," he said. "The team is investigating now what the problem may have been.
"Obviously, I am very disappointed not to be able to race this weekend and sorry that I couldn't score any points for the team."
