Mikhail Aleshin and Fairuz Fauzy were both given grid penalties following GP2 Asia qualifying in Abu Dhabi.
Carlin driver Aleshin committed his misdemeanor in free practice, when he crossed the finish line twice after the checkered flag. Though given a three-place penalty, the Russian will only fall from 22nd to 24th as 23rd-place qualifier Fauzy was also punished for an incident.
The Renault Formula 1 test driver was judged to have been at fault in a collision with his Super Nova teammate Johnny Cecotto during qualifying. Fauzy was given a 10-place penalty, which given his lowly qualifying result, moves him from 23rd to 26th. Cecotto will start 16th.
