Mikhail Aleshin will return to GP2 with Carlin at the Hungaroring this weekend.
The 24-year-old Russian has missed the last four rounds of the championship, but will now return to partner team regular Max Chilton at the British squad. Aleshin raced for Carlin at the opening two rounds of the season at Istanbul Park and Barcelona, but was replaced by Oliver Turvey for Monaco.
Alvaro Parente took over the drive for the Valencia Street Circuit round, but has now ceded the seat back to the reigning Formula Renault 3.5 champion.
"It's a great opportunity for me to have this experience, so thanks to the team," Aleshin said. "I know the car, I know the team and it's a track I know well, so I believe we can push for some good results this weekend."
Aleshin's most recent race outing was in Superleague Formula at Zolder earlier this month.
