AIM Autosport shifts from Daytona Prototypes to GT in the 2012 Rolex Series season, with a new Ferrari 458 Italia for 2010 GT class champions Emil Assentato and Jeff Segal.
The duo, who previously drove with SpeedSource in a Mazda RX-8, will be the full-season drivers for AIM Autosport Team FXDD. It's the first full-season Ferrari entered in the 2012 season.
AIM Autosport Team FXDD will make its on-track debut in its new car at Fiorano, in Maranello, Italy – the official Ferrari test track – Tuesday, Nov. 1. Team personnel are presently in Italy at the Michelotto facility in Padua where the new 458 is in its final stages of assembly and preparation.
AIM Autosport Team FXDD's official Grand-Am debut is scheduled for December's final test of the year at Daytona International Speedway, with the 50th anniversary Rolex 24 at Daytona the team's first race.
Burt Frisselle and Mark Wilkins ran sporadic events in AIM's Riley DP car in 2011, for the team which first made series headlines with two wins in 2008.
