Adam CarrollAFS Racing plans to step up to the IndyCar Series full time in 2011. The Indy Lights team has run Adam Carroll in two IndyCar races so far this year in association with Andretti Autosport, and has bought its own car for next year.

"I want to step up," said team boss Gary Peterson. "I've just been waiting for the announcement of the new cars for 2012. But I'm definitely going to run a car full time next year – we have a car prepped and ready to go."

Carroll is not certain to remain in the car next season, but Peterson would like to maintain his link with the Andretti team.

"Hopefully, we can have the same type of deal where it's an AFS/Andretti team next year," he added. "Michael's a friend, and we've had some success together. He had these cars for eight years, so it's hard for us to go it alone."
