ACO aims for compromise in Audi rules controversy
The Automobile Club de l'Ouest has announced that it will hold a meeting at the end of June for technical directors and engineers responsible for designing Le Mans cars. The move follows Peugeot's protest about the legality of Audi's R15.
"The ACO is organizing a meeting with the entrants to find common ground," said the ruling body in an official statement Wednesday evening. "The aim of this meeting is to study together with them the application of the 2010/2011 regulations, listen to their proposals and answer their questions."
Audi has yet to make a formal statement about the protest. Peugeot motorsport chief Olivier Quesnel is expected to clarify his company's position in a press conference tomorrow morning.
