A1GP says it expects 19 cars to take part in its opening rounds in Surfers Paradise next weekend.
The championship's fifth season had been in doubt throughout the summer, but series bosses are adamant that the new financial package that the nation-vs.-nation contest recently secured has guaranteed its survival. Now A1GP has announced a provisional entry list of 19 teams for Surfers, although it did not specify the drivers or the organizations that will run each car.
Of the teams that completed the 2008/2009 season, Lebanon and Malaysia are not listed as returnees. But A1GP does anticipate that Team Pakistan – which failed to race last year – will be in the field this time.
Reigning champion Ireland is listed as an entrant, along with predecessors Switzerland, Germany and France.
A1GP has also announced that its Chinese round, to be held on 13-15 November, will return to Zhuhai after last season's move to Chengdu.
